Passing of LCol Al Baylis, CD
It is our sad duty to announce that former Seaforth Commanding Officer LCol (Ret) Al Baylis passed away July 7, 2018. Albert 'Al' Baylis was born in Whitehorse, Yukon in 1930. He joined the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada as a cadet in 1944. From that time until his death he was devoted to the Seaforths. In the summer of 1972 he completed a staff course in Kingston, and commanded the Regiment from December 1972 until December 1975. He remained involved in many roles with the Seaforth Highlanders until his death. He was a former Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the Regiment; a member of the Cadet Committee; and active in the Seaforth Association. We will greatly miss his leadership, integrity, energy and friendship. LCol Baylis is survived by his sisters Kay Vallance and Margaret Clow (husband Bill) and his partner Rhoda Kerton.
