Seaforth Armoury, Vancouver’s own Scottish baronial castle, shares its secrets
The Seaforth Highlanders have occupied a “Scottish baronial castle” at 1650 Burrard Street since 1936. But Vancouver’s famed infantry regiment is moving out for a couple of years while the building gets a seismic upgrade and some renovations.
Before the movers arrived, the regiment offered us a tour of Seaforth Armoury with its museum curator Robert MacDonald. Through his stories, the building and artifacts come to life – and boy, are there a lot of artifacts.
