National Day

May 5th is National Day, celebrating the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945. Traditionally a military parade is held in the city where the Germans signed their capitulation: Wageningen. The 60st anniversary of the liberation in 2005 was the last time the Regiment itself has taken part in this parade with a contingent (including the Regimental Pipes & Drums) under the command of C.O. Lt.Col. Blair McGregor.

This year the Seaforth Highlanders of Holland have (again) represented the Regiment (much to the satisfaction of the Defence Attaché of Canada in The Netherlands,Colonel J. Knackstedt. The Pipes & Drums are at the permanent disposal of the Canadian Embassy).
